Critics have met Days Gone very welcoming, but it didn’t prevent the biker zombie apocalypse from climbing to the first line of sales in the UK and getting around a serious (and multiplatform!) competitor – Mortal Kombat 11.
We need to emphasize — we are talking only about physical copies and only in the UK.
As GamesIndustry.biz reports, the first sales of Days Gone were 27% lower than last year’s God of War. However, on the side of Kratos, there was already a familiar and popular franchise, and Days Gone is a new game, thanks to which its debut still looks impressive.
In general, GamesIndustry.biz calls sales in the reporting week “leisurely”: most games have been sold less than in the previous week. For example, the leader of the previous chart, World War Z, collapsed by 70% and now has caught only in tenth place. But there are also upgrades – Metro: Exodus grew by 130% thanks to a discount in retail and in the current list it took the 14th place.
Reporting week ended April 27. Ten leaders look like this (in brackets – the place a week before):
- Days Gone
- Mortal Kombat 11
- FIFA 19 (2)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (5)
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 (3)
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (4)
- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (8)
- Forza Horizon 4 (16)
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (10)
- World War Z (1)
