The chart was posted by game analyst Daniel Ahmad based on data from Sony’s financial report. The picture shows the number of seven different consoles shipped to stores in the first six years of their life cycles. The lowest is the Xbox 360, and the highest is the PS2. Sony said that the shipment of the PlayStation 4 exceeded 96.8 million devices. This means that the console is likely to reach 100 millions faster than the Nintendo Wii which holds the second place in this chart So far it is unclear whether PS4 will be able to exceed the results of PS2 or not – two generations of the PlayStation have approximately the same results. At the moment Switch shipments are almost as good as competitors, but in January Nintendo lowered its sales forecast of their hybrid console.
